Spherical cavity expansion in porous rock considering plasticity and damage

In rock engineering, damage evolution upon loading imposes significant impacts on the stiffness of mass and its deformation characteristics. order to investigate influence both plasticity cavity expansion, a plastic solution is derived for undrained spherical expansion in medium. For consideration plasticity-damage, Modified Cam-Clay (MCC) model selected as driver, criterion adopted coupled with MCC. The MCC validated against experimental data literature. proposed verified through classic role investigated by studying spatial variations effective stress, pore pressure cases different stress ratios. Distribution induced zones ratios are also reproduced discussed. Cavity results show that, zone should be considered engineering application affected due evolution. addition, stability (e.g., radial stress) overestimated classical without zone.
